There is a very prominent light bar running across the front of a very smooth face for the 2024 Kona. Hyundai says the designed this vehicle as an EV first, then ICE, so the “smoothness” of the EV design can be seen throughout.

As this article focuses on the Gas only powertrain, there will be two engine options available:
SE/SEL:
- 2.0L I-4: 147 hp | 132 lb.ft
- Paired w/ CVT
N-Line/Limited:
- 1.6L Turbo I-4: 190 hp | 195 lb.ft
- Paired w/ 8-speed automatic (replaced 7-speed DCT)
FWD is standard but AWD is available for the New Kona. The fuel economy for each model is listed below, as rated by the EPA:
