As this article focuses on the Gas only powertrain, there will be two engine options available:

SE/SEL:

  • 2.0L I-4: 147 hp | 132 lb.ft
  • Paired w/ CVT

N-Line/Limited: 

  • 1.6L Turbo I-4: 190 hp | 195 lb.ft
  • Paired w/ 8-speed automatic (replaced 7-speed DCT)

 

FWD is standard but AWD is available for the New Kona. The fuel economy for each model is listed below, as rated by the EPA:

2.0L AWD: 27/29/28 MPG

1.6L FWD: 26/32/28 MPG
