What’s Under the Hood?
The big news for the RAM is that the 5.7L HEMI V8 has been discontinued. However, there are three very powerful options for this 1500 for 2025:
3.6L Pentastar V-6 with eTorque (mild hybrid) | 315 hp | 269 lb.ft
- Standard Tradesman/Big Horn/Lone Star
- 10 more HP over last year
- Regular fuel
3.0L Hurricane Twin-Turbo I-6 | 420 hp | 469 lb.ft (SST)
- Standard Laramie and Rebel | Optional Tradesman, Big Horn
- 25 hp & 59 lb.ft more torque than previous 5.7L HEMI V-8
- Premium fuel recommended
3.0L Hurricane Twn-Turbo I-6 (High Output) | 540 hp | 521 lb.ft
- Standard Longhorn, Limited and Tungsten
- Significantly more power than other rivals mainstream/luxury trims
- Premium fuel required
The EPA has currently not rated any 2025 RAM model. 4×2 is standard, except for the High Output I-6, where 4×4 is standard.
