Design and Features
For 2025, there are not any radical redesigns for the Maverick, but rather some needed tweaks to mature the design. What’s Under the Hood?
The 2025 Ford Maverick will have two familiar powertrains, but will see another shuffle for what will be standard:
Standard Hybrid: 2.5L I-4 + electric motor & battery | 191 hp 155 lb.ft (total system)
eCVT
FWD or now available with AWD
XL, XLT, Lariat
Optional (standard on Lobo): 2.0L Turbo I-4 | 238 hp; 277 lb.ft
8-speed automatic
FWD or AWD
The Lobo will get some extra performance goodies, like Focus ST brakes, a cooling package, and a modified 7-speed automatic instead of an 8-speed. The 2024 Fuel Economy ratings are as follows, and should be similar for 2025:
Hybrid: 42/33/37 MPG
Hybrid AWD: expected 40 MPG city
2.0 FWD: 23/30/26 MPG
2.0 AWD: 22/29/25 MPG
2.0 AWD Tremor: 20/24/21 MPG
