As a note for the model year, we are calling this model a 2026, but it is technically considered a 2025.5, to be released halfway through 2025. Surprisingly, the XC90 still offers three powertrains for 2026, with the B5 and B6 running new Miller Cycles for better efficiency:

  • B5: 2.0L Turbo I4 w/ 48v mild hybrid system – 247 hp | 266 lb.ft of torque.
  • B6: 2.0L Turbo I4 w/ 48v mild hybrid system – 300 hp | 310 lb.ft
  • T8: 455 hp | 523 lb.ft
    • Pure EV range: 32 miles

All will have an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD. Fuel Economy is as follows:

B5 AWD: 26 MPG combined

B6 AWD: 23 MPG combined

T8 Recharge: 58 MPGe
