Design and Features
The X1 was unveiled last year with a brand new, modern design, a huge improvement over the last generation. The M35i really steps up the game with aggressive diffusers and quad exhausts. What’s Under the Hood?
There are two distinct engine options for the X1, depending on your need for speed:
- Base Engine:
- 2.0L Turbo 4: 241 hp | 295 lb.ft
- M35i:
- Enhanced 2.0L Turbo 4: 312 hp | 295 lb.ft
AWD and a new 7-speed dual clutch transmission is standard on every BMW X1 model. The fuel economy for each model is listed below, as rated by the EPA:

35i: 23/31/26 MPG
