Design and Features

The Tacoma retains its new face for 2025, with a variety of different designs running throughout its many trim levels. On the most rugged TRD Pro and TrailHunter trims, additional red tow hooks are added for 2025. On the Limited trim we tested, chrome adorns many of the elements throughout the truck. As previously mentioned, Toyota has replaced the old V-6 with a new i-Force 4-Cylnider for this new generation, with specs as follows:

  • SR: 228 hp | 243 lb.ft (lower tuning)
  • SR5-Limited: 278 hp | 317 lb ft
  • Same HP as last years V-6, a lot more torque (+52 lb.ft)
  • With manual: 270 hp | 310 lb.ft
• i-Force MAX Hybrid – 2.4L Turbo I-4 + electric motor, nickel-hydride battery
  • 326 hp | 465 lb.ft – Most powerful Tacoma ever
  • Nearly double the previous V-6’s torque
  • More powerful than Colorado High-Output, Ranger Raptor will beat it
  • Optional: TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited
  • Standard: TRD Pro, Trailhunter
• Transmission:
  • Std: 8-speed automatic (including Hybrid)
  • Opt: 6-speed manual
• 4×2 or 4×4:
