VW Atlas Exterior

What’s Under the Hood?

The big change for 2024 is that the Atlas no longer comes with a V6 option, becoming another SUV to be 4-Cylinder exclusive:

  • 2.0L Turbo I-4: 269 hp | 273 lb.ft of torque
  • 8-Speed Automatic
  • FWD or AWD

Don’t fret too much though, as this new powertrain still puts out comparable numbers to the old V6. There are two main fuel economy figures for the Atlas:

  • FWD: 20/27/23 MPG
  • AWD: 19/26/22 MPG (or 21 combined SEL, 20 combined Peak)
