After many years without having a true, competitive three-row SUV, Lexus has finally unveiled the All-new 2024 Lexus TX, the brand’s first dedicated three-row. Based off the all-new Toyota Grand Highlander, which we have already tested, there is tons of potential for this new model! This article will cover the detailed specs of this new model. When it comes to availability, the 350 and 500h models will be on sale this Fall. The 550h+ will follow at later date.

Design and Features

The All-New 2024 Lexus TX definitely looks like a Lexus; however, it uses some new design elements that are not widely seen throughout the line-up. The TX has a new “Unified” Spindle Grille that is body color, as compared to a contrasting black on other Lexus vehicles. Of course, the rear will be a complete change from the RX, introducing a boxy design that finally has third row utility. As for the interior, there is less of a radical departure from the standard Lexus affair. The biggest difference will be the increased amount of storage throughout. As for the features, we are not sure the full trim breakdown of all of the features, but here is a breakdown of what we do know will be on the 2024 Lexus TX:

The interior will be a comfortable place to be like every other Lexus product.

The Rear seats are where you will see the most changes from the Lexus RX.

What’s Under the Hood?

Surprisingly, Lexus has introduced a slightly different Powertrain line-up as compared to its platform-mate: the all-new Toyota Grand Highlander. The specs are as follows:

• TX 350 (Traditional Gas):

• 2.4L Turbo I-4
• 275 hp and 317 lb.ft
• FWD or AWD
• 8-speed automatic

• TX 500h (Performance Hybrid):

• 2.4L Turbo-4 w/ front electric motor and rear e-axle
• 366 hp | 409 lb ft of torque
• Same design system as the Lexus RX 500h Performance
• Direct-4 AWD only
• 6-speed automatic

• TX 550h+ (Plug-in Hybrid):

• New, Lexus-exclusive
• 3.5L V-6 + electric
• 406 hp total system 
• Direct-4 AWD
• EV Range: est 33 miles
• eCVT

As expected, fuel economy has not yet been rated by the EPA, but here are the Lexus estimates we were provided with:

• 350: 21 MPG
• 500h: 24 MPG
• 550h+: 30 MPG

We also learned that the TX 500 F-Sport will come with a rear-steering system for increased maneuverability.
